Born September 12, 1991 in Weymouth , MA . He has lived in Abington his entire life. At age 14 he began training MMA at South Shore Sportfighting, which was located in Whitman at the time but has recently moved to Norwell. Although he was uncoordinated, over weight, and un-athletic, Cory quickly lost 45lbs and fell in love with MMA. Rather than coming from a wrestling or boxing background, he trained in all aspects of MMA from the very beginning. He fights at 145lbs (Featherweight).
He is currently a junior at Bridgewater State University pursuing a degree in BioMed/Molecular Biology, and he has been on the Dean’s List every semester. After earning his degree, he hopes to further his education to begin a career in the medical field, or laboratory research on diseases.
Currently ranked #2 in New England at 145lbs, right behind his SSSF team mate and fellow PAC member Brandon Fleming, Cory is 4-0 in MMA. All of his fights have ended in the 1st round, and in less than 2 minutes. With a true fighter’s spirit, Cory had his first MMA fight on August 14th, 2010, which was the day after his father passed away. Despite all he was going through, he still fought and quickly won via armbar. Without his trainers Scott Lockhart & Bill Mahoney, and all of his team mates at SSSF, Cory would not be where he is today.
